Celtic Cross
The history and origins of the Celtic Cross remain shrouded in mystery and intrigue. Throughout many centuries different forms of the cross have represented Christianity. The Celtic cross is instantly recognised as something distinctly Irish and Gaelic and a symbol of "the old country". Although the basic shape and structure is virtually unchanged since the Gaelic Christian Golden Age the iconic Celtic cross has continued into the twenty first century with new features and designs enhancing its attraction as an ornament.
Brendan Neeson attempts to recreate the ancient beauty of this Celtic art-work through his unique style of wood carving and creative craft. Using carefully selected woods including naturally preserved bog oak and by incorporating traditional and modern methods Brendan has successfully brought to life this art form in these handsome pieces of wood-craft.
The items shown here are all genuine hand-crafted works by Brendan Neeson. Individual or special requirements can be incorporated into a preferred piece on request.
